Just when we all thought that the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup would never get to see the light of day here again in Singapore , especially with obstacles after obstacles that we were facing , now , out of the sudden , there seemed to be choices aplenty for those interested to be part of this Mega Soccer Event of The Year come June !
Initially , it all seemed that we were hoping and chasing for a lost cause , and that there would be no light at the end of the tunnel for most soccer fans here , as far as the LIVE World Cup Broadcasting Rights were concerned .... From having to endure for long periods of time for the outcome of the LIVE Broadcasting Rights , which at one stage proved to be just too unbearable for some soccer fans here , to the anger and disappointment over the high subscription prices each household and coffeeshop outlets had to pay to enjoy the LIVE Coverage , it has been one heavy blow after another for most soccer fans here !
After the deal has been struck with FIFA for the World Cup broadcasting rights with just 35 Days to go to the Big Kickoff , it has also opened up numerous alternate choices for soccer fans to be part of this Mega soccer fiesta !
- Choice 1 : LIVE Screening At Sentosa Siloso Beach
In the first of such Event to be held in Singapore , sixteen LIVE 2010 FIFA World Cup Matches from the Knockout Rounds onwards will be shown LIVE at Sentosa Siloso Beach . In conjunction with the 2010 FIFA World Cup , Sentosa Siloso Beach will play Host to a two weeks Mega Event entitled " Singapore World Cup Festival 2010 from 26 June 2010 To 12 July 2010 , where sixteen Matches from the Knockout stages - Round of 16 onwards to the World Cup Final itself will be screened LIVE on giant screens !
The Knockout Matches will be played at 10pm & 2.30am ( Singapore Time ) and interested soccer fans have to purchase Tickets to be part of this LIVE Screening Fiesta and other interesting Events that are being lined up for you . - Choice 2 : LIVE Screening At Resort World Sentosa ( RWS ) !
Now there is one more reason for one to visit Resort World Sentosa this June , besides trying your luck at the gambling table ! Never mind not being able to afford the high subscription prices to catch all 64 Matches LIVE at home , or no coffeeshop near you in the heartlands will be showing the Matches ! For all 64 World Cup Matches will be shown LIVE at Resort World Sentosa Livewire outlet itself !
- Choice 3 : LIVE Screening At Beerfest Asia 2010
What is watching LIVE soccer without beer ? To be held concidentially during the World Cup period , LIVE 2010 FIFA World Cup Matches will also be shown for at least the five days when this Beerfest Asia Event is being held . This will be the second time that this prestigious beer Event will be held in Singapore . It will run from 16 June 2010 to 20 June 2010 at Marina Promenade .

- Choice 4 : McDonalds & S - 11 Outlets
If the previous two Mega Soccer Tournaments were anything to go by , then there should be quite a high possibility of McDonalds showing the upcoming World Cup at some of their outlets again this year ! But whether the high subscription prices will put them off is another matter altogether . Soccer fans will just have to keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best .

- Choice 5 : LIVE Screenings At Community Centres
And the latest is that , local soccer fans will get to watch LIVE World Cup Matches for FREE at 15 of our neighbourhood Community Centres ! This is the closest that local soccer fans will get to enjoy some LIVE World Cup Matches for FREE legally near our home and in our heartlands !
This move was made possible with the People's Association ( PA ) , Singapore Pools as well as two of our local Cable TV Operators Starhub Cable and SingTel miotv , securing a special deal with FIFA to bring the FREE LIVE World Cup Telecast to Community Centres at absolutely no charge !
- Choice 6 : 3D Experience In Cinemas !
This may yet be a likely possibility as deals and talks are still being worked out . So , in the meantime though , one can just hope for the best and keep their fingers crossed that some of this year's World Cup Matches may come to the big screens near you !
With so many choices on offer now , there is simply no reason at all for one to miss out or to be felt being left out of all the action and excitement in the Biggest soccer Event of The Year next month !
